Champ

This is my first layout that I have ever submitted for a competition!  It looks much better in person.  I don't think photos ever quite do things justice.  The story behind this makes me laugh.  My hubby, Clint, and my nephew, Forrest, have been smack talking for a year over who was the faster runner.  So, when my sister and her family came down to visit, the race was on!  They ran 2 miles.  Clint wanted to at least win in humor, so he wore a blue and white headband, and wristbands.  He had on a sleeveless shirt, and he wore knee high socks, which we striped at the top with a blue sharpie.  We really weren't sure if he would stand a chance against Forrest because he was 20 years younger than Clint, but within the first lap, it was obvious that Clint had him.  He won by 3/4 of a lap!  So...the race is on again for next year.  I'm sure that it will be a much tighter race next time, but Clint has already figured out what he is going to wear.  :)
If you want to vote for my layout, it is at Scrappin' Bunnies.  The competition ends this Saturday!

Glossy Dimension

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 13 of us highlighting the “Glossy Dimension” Technique as shown on page 23 in the Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  If you would like to start from the beginning, please visit this link to Debi's blog.  While there you will also find a listing of all participants and their blog addresses if you should get lost or want to reference a blog along the way.  Let’s get started!

If you are coming from Debi's Blog, you are on the right track!

This technique was so much fun!!!  It was like PAINT embossing.  I first stamped the flourish using a lighter green, so I could have a guide to follow, then I mixed up my liquid glass with the New England Ivy reinker, and used my embossing stylus to "paint" the liquid glass over top!!!  I enjoyed myself SO much with it, I decided to mix up some Goldrush reinker to place dots of color on the scallops and around the flourish.  I can see this becoming one of my favorite techniques!

Supply List:
  • Dreamin' Paper Pack (X7142B)
  • Honey Cardstock (available in Dark Yellow & Orange Shade Pack or Winter Combo Pack)
  • Liquid Glass (Z679)
  • New England Ivy Reinker (Z2235)
  • Goldrush Reinker (Z2223)
  • Cocoa Ink Pad (Z2114)
  • Garden Green Ink Pad (Z2120)
  • Pewter Mini Medley Accents (Z1487)
  • Cocoa Designer Ribbon Collection (Z1316)

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Rachel's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Kit Of The Month Club

This month is really going to fly by, so I am trying to get things up and going on this blog.  I absolutely fell in love with the Roxie paper pack, so that is what we are doing this month.  There are going to be a few changes to the club, so here are the details:
  • You do not need to be a monthly member to join us, this just means you won't be on the hostess rotation.
  • By ordering through me, you will receive everything you need to complete a THIRD layout.  This is a 'thank you' gift from me, because I want you all to know how much I appreciate you!
  • If, for some crazy reason, you do not like the kit for that month, you can still participate in the hostess rotation by purchasing an equal amount of whatever you want.
  • If you do not wish to purchase the kit, you can purchase the paper pack and whatever else you would like to bring your total up to the kit amount (not hard to do, as the kits are FABULOUS deals at only 29.95!!!)
So, with all of that said, we will be meeting at my house on August 20th at 10:30 am to make these DELICIOUS layouts!

I will need to put the order in this Saturday morning to ensure we have everything in on time, so let me know soon!!!

I have some wonderful Consultants joining me in this hop which works as a circle.  So begin "hopping" and feel free to leave comments along the way.

You should have arrived here from Neely's Blog

For this card, I simply couldn't resist giving her classic red, sparkly shoes with our new red Glitz glitter gel!  The paper is from the Mischief paper pack, and the paper flowers were cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  The other elements I added were from the pewter Mini-Medley kit, the Heirloom assortment, and the Licorice Opaques.  Hope you like it!

Thank you for stopping by.  Now hop on over to  Lorus's Blog where she will show you her creative use of this stamp set!  Happy hoppin'!
